How to talk to teams about TRR

What is The Relationship Rating?

The Relationship Rating (TRR) is a simple client feedback system that we use to stay in touch with our clients. TRR helps us to understand exactly how clients

feel across all levels of the business. VerityRI, who runs the survey take the pulse of client relationships on a regular basis. The survey highlights the relationships

that are in good health and points out those that might need further attention.

TRR Question

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is low and 10 is high, how likely is it that you would recommend Company X to a friend or colleague?

What makes you feel this way?

How do I talk to my teams about TRR?

Our understanding of the TRR survey is one of the key elements that contribute to the successful outcome. It is important to ensure teams know:

• Why we have decided to run the TRR

• How we are planning to use the findings

• How actions will be captured internally and delivered to clients.

Principles to follow when establishing TRR within your teams

Establish TRR primarily as a tool to help your teams manage their clients strategically

  • TRR is a relationship management tool, not a school report

  • It’s better to know how a client is feeling than to not survey

  • All relationships have their ups and downs; it’s how you respond that matters; success is as much about course correcting and improving as getting a high rating

Set TRR as a common currency in the company

  • Ensuring successes are celebrated

  • Shout outs in company/teams meetings

  • Looking at wider themes across the company

  • Learning from challenges and successes

  • TRR objectives in appraisals/goals

Not settling for good, always pushing for great

  • Adopting a growth mindset

  • What can I do to get this client to rate a 10?
